Prayer Against Republic’s Enemies, Ps 109 Revised

Prayer Against Republic’s Enemies, Psalm 109, parody and adaption from KJV

Hold not thy peace, O God of our praise; For the mouth of the wicked and the mouth of the deceitful are opened against our president and the republic: they have spoken against them with a lying tongue. They compassed them about also with words of hatred; and fought against them without a cause. For his and the republic’s love they have become adversaries: but we give them unto prayer. And they have rewarded us evil for good, and hatred for love. Set thou a wicked man over them: and let Satan stand at their right hand. When they shall be judged, let them be condemned: and let their prayer become sin. Let their days be few; and let another take their office.

Let their children be fatherless, and their wive’s widows. Let their children be continually vagabonds, and beg: let them seek their bread also out of their desolate places. Let the extortioner catch all that they hath; and let the strangers spoil their labour. Let there be none to extend mercy unto them: neither let there be any to favour their fatherless children. Let their posterity be cut off; and in the generation following let their name be blotted out. Let the iniquity of their fathers be remembered with the LORD; and let not the sin of their mother be blotted out.

Let them be before the LORD continually, that he may cut off the memory of them from the earth. Because they remembered not to shew mercy, but persecuted the truthful, that they might even slay the broken in heart. As they loved cursing, so let it come unto them: as they delighted not in blessing, so let it be far from them. As they clothed themselves with cursing like as with their garment, so let it come into their bowels like water, and like oil into their bones.

Let it be unto them as the garment which covereth them, and for a girdle wherewith be they girded continually. Let this be the reward of the adversaries of the republic from the LORD, and of them that speak evil against it. But do thou for us, O GOD the Lord, for thy name’s sake: because thy mercy is good, deliver thou us. For we are poor and needy, and our heart is wounded within us. We are gone like the shadow when it declineth: We are ┬átossed up and down as the locust. Our knees are weak through fasting; and our flesh faileth of fatness. We became also a reproach unto them: when they looked upon us they shaked their heads. Help us, O LORD our God: O save us according to thy mercy: That they may know that this is thy hand; that thou, LORD, hast done it.

Let them curse, but bless thou: when they arise, let them be ashamed; but let thy servants rejoice. Let our adversaries be clothed with shame, and let them cover themselves with their own confusion, as with a mantle. We will greatly praise the LORD with our mouths; yea, we will praise him among the multitude. For he shall stand at the right hand of the poor, to save them from those that condemn his soul. Amen

Ezekiel 33:11 KJV – 11 Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?
